Ms. Sara Hissner
Ms. Sara Hissner is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, TN where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a double licensure for vocal and instrumental music. Ms. Hissner grew up in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, a small town near Hershey, PA (yes, the town smells like chocolate). During high school she spent most of her time singing, playing French horn, and playing the guitar, while also starting a few new instruments like violin and banjo. In her high school career, she was a member of the marching band, concert band, jazz band, concert choir, show choir, school musicals, and performed as a soloist for local nursing homes, churches, and folk festivals. While attending Belmont University, Ms. Hissner was a member of various music ensembles including, Wind Ensemble, Chorale, Symphony Orchestra, Bruin Blast Pep Band, Brass Ensemble, French Horn Ensemble, Oratorio Chorus, performed in the pit orchestra for Opera productions, and also marched for Vanderbilt’s marching band. She has been a head counselor for the annual Summer Youth Wind Symphony at Belmont since it first began three years ago. Ms. Hissner also has performed in the chorus with the Nashville Opera Association for three seasons. She is 6th year teaching at Hendersonville High School where she teaches Freshman Chorus, Orchestra, and assists with the HHS Bands.
